Introducing Blake

In the news today, we finally have a phone line, also have internet again, but the most smashing news of the day (well actually yesterday), our son was born!!

Mind you, this was no easy accomplishment. Lily started complaining about strange pains on Tuesday so we rushed into the hospital to find out what was going on. With Blake having been breech before and Lily not having a similar thing with Linsey we got a little worried. A cause could not be determined but all was fine with the baby and with Lily but it meant a restless night.

By Wednesday Lily was feeling lots better and we headed out for a routine checkup. That revealed Lily was dilated to 2cm which was great news offcourse, it seems things where on their way and maybe the pain during the night wasn't for nothing. With a little help from the Doctor labour started to kick in towards the end of Wednesday. It meant another restless night but with little progress, labour was light and it wasn't until late into Thursday that things really started to speed up.

Late Thursday it was finally time to go to hospital. Linsey was born at home, Blake would be born in Hospital which is the common thing here in Australia unlike in Holland. Lily was at 4cm by the time we got into hospital, a bit disappointing but as things really started to go faster from that point. We where looking at Blake being born around 1am and indeed, things where going great, but then we hit a snatch. It seems Blake has a thing for being in the wrong position and he turned out to be sideways.. In itself this does not need to be a problem but he managed to get himself stuck. It would take until well over 4am before he finally decided enough was enough and he was born at 4:42am :) He weighs 4050grams and is 50cm long and very healthy :)

We weren't out of the woods yet though, just like with Linsey Lily had trouble with the placenta, they had alot more trouble this time around even. As with Linsey Lily again is having trouble with bleeding. This time though as they were ready the blood loss was much less and Lily didn't need extra blood, but we may look at a longer recovery period again. We'll see. Lily is feeling great and recovering well otherwise so far and to me she looks alot better then she did when Linsey was born.

Anyways, couple of pics:

Linsey and Blake
Linsey so far doing remarkably well, all she wants to do is hug and kiss her brother. Maybe a little to much though :D

Papa, Linsey and Blake 2
Me with my two girls:D

Blake
There is my little man!!

No pics of Lily and Blake yet (well none that we'd want to make public), hopefully we can do a family photo soon:)
